The Next New Thing

Every year, new additions to new media never ceases to disappoint. Whether it be social networking to virtual gaming, new media platforms have exponentially improved and are continuing to improve. The next new thing for new media can be a combination of virtual worlds, video recording, and birthday cards (yes, birthday cards.) With an advancement in technology, people will have the ability and the option to send a "card" that can record a holographic message of the sender to the receiver (visuals and audio all included.) Now is the decade in which we started to conference with people all over the world through a screen. Soon will be the time in which we will start to interact more closely than ever through my "next new thing."

  1. Hey Sung, one of your ideas are very similar to e-cards, but i like how you integrated a video into it to make it more personalized. I think hologram would be awesome too! It would be pretty awesome if a hologram popped up while i was in the train to school one morning!

  2. If this idea becomes a reality, it looks like I won't need to buy holiday cards for my family anymore! This sounds like something I saw recently in the new Iron Man movie. Can't wait to see what the future of "new technology" will bring.

  3. I like the idea. The messages can be very personal with having you congratulate someone. And this would not be a card that you throw out a week later, this would be something we would keep and cherish.

  4. I love this idea. And I hope it does become the next big thing. I am a very sentimental person, and I would truly be excited to send a hologram birthday card to my family and boyfriend back home. Like all things there are pros and cons, but with this idea, I think the good outweighs the bad.
